25th October 2004 - overwhelmed and grateful

Forgive my tardiness with this posting. I’ve been in hospital for a bit of surgery. Nothing major (I’m home now) but I’m very tired and uncomfortable so this is a short posting.

I’ve been really overwhelmed by the good wishes I’ve had from family (mine and DMs) and friends. My 6am phone call from Jeanne was such a kind thought – and these flowers…..well, suffice to say I shed a few tears over them. Thanks! DM set this pic up of the bouquet for me and all I had to do was shuffle into the room and press the button.

Most of all DM has been wonderful. He’s fussed and fretted, cooked wonderful food and generally been such a great support. He even bought me flowers for the first time ever since we started our relationship four years ago and not just any flowers, deep crimson roses. Beautiful. So the house is full of glorious flowers, some from here and some all the way from the other side of the world – how lucky am I?

I had a bit of a hiccup in the hospital, with a very slow heart rate slowing my recovery but I’m hoping to be feeling much better soon. While the recovery room team were worrying about my heart, I had a long conversation with a nurse that I won’t ever forget. Thanks Ursula if you should see this.

it's a heck of a way to get a vacation, but Ihope you utilize this time away from the corporate world to do exactly that . . rest and recuperate . . and let the DM Mother hen fuddle about! =]

Sorry I missed this yesterday, so I hope its not too late to wish you a recovery. I missed out the word 'speedy' there as I don't want you going back to work TOO soon, although I know you would find that frustrating. But I hope you are feeling more comfortable very soon...

Take Care

My thoughts are with you for a speedy recovery! Get lots of rest, read tons of great books, listen to fabulous music, and spend time with the ones you love!

I'm glad you are home! I'll call you anytime, Linda...even at 6am! (I knew you were up from the pmail you sent, don't want other people to think I'd wake THEM at 6 am for a chat!! LOL!) Continue to relax, and feel better!! XXXX
