We’ve been pretty overwhelmed by the stream of visitors we’ve had at the cottage since we arrived. Both of our fellow ‘immigrant’ families have been for supper – Stuart with Tor and Alan and Dee. DM’s sister and her family came too and today is the turn of David’s folks. They have done a little tour of Cornwall and Devon, spending yesterday with the other Linda, Tony and the boys and making their way further south to spend a day with us today.
We spent the morning dashing around tidying and cooking lunch then, after they arrived and we’d done the grand tour of the house and garden, we took them off along the route of the Caradon and Liskeard Railway track to Minions (a couple of miles from home) for a Cornish cream tea (scones, clotted cream and jam). A quick look at the South Phoenix Mine engine house and its little information room followed, then on to the Hurlers (the stone circles I photographed last week) and home back along the railway track.
This ewe was sitting on top of a bank and Archie just sat and looked at her - he didn't attempt to go get her at all - result!
It’s been a good day, we went for a pub meal in the evening and now we’re sitting watching the TV……
