This is Sarah (who normally looks much more beautiful than this) – she’s especially good with her eyes open, Tom and Olly – in that order!
These two are part of a bigger group of guys who we met last time Sarah and I were celebrating a big win and behaving badly in the Bell and Hare. We were spilling our drinks on them and apologising and we’ve been chatting to them ever since.
Olly, Tom and Phil were in the pub before the game but Phil had left immediately afterwards. Sarah and I couldn’t resist a quick drink after the game as we’d beaten Liverpool 2-1 – and not just any old victory – a really good, well played win by us that was deserved – no fluky goals, no luck, just a good performance. I can’t tell you how much it buoyed all our spirits to feel we’d won four games on the trot (and are now in 12th position in the table of 20 teams). David tells me we're seven points above the relegation zone too - that's much more comfortable than we were a few weeks ago. I'm still treating Ladbrokes as a charity though - I had a scorecast with us winning 2-1 BUT Postiga scoring the first goal - he scored the second and Robbie Keane scored the first - grr - we could still have been there in the Bell and Hare now if we'd won £66!!!
Olly and Tom work for Starbucks – I was a bit hesitant about their company’s ‘big corporate’ image but I was convinced by Olly’s really passionate speech about all the charity work they do – especially in the local community. I’m hoping to strike a deal with them for some charitable work for us (TNS) in the near future.
Anyway, crap picture I know (just a snapshot of a few people having a good time in the pub – no better or worse than most of the PBASE content) – but a great reminder for me of a brilliant afternoon with my buddy Sarah and our new mates from Starbucks!
I got on the train home and came out of Farnborough Station to find no David – I could hear a rumbling though and sure enough, around the corner came the beast – that VW is fully functioning at last. Double Joy!!!
