It’s hard to remember how this happened but it did. Once upon a time, ten years ago to be precise, I was voted the UK Pharmaceutical Industry’s Boss of the Year. All the water that’s passed under the bridge since then and all of the pain and heartache has left me a shadow of my former self. In a lifetime that’s subsequently disappeared without trace, I was good at stuff and people recognised that I was. Now all I have is this trophy as a reminder and even that's chipped after I dropped it.
