The dog that has appeared in this shot is neither Rosie nor Archie – he’s just a little chap who was so excited at going on his walk that he’s abandoned his “mum” in the street and found his own way onto the coast path. I did see her a little later, dashing through the gate to catch him up……though I must say, her chances were slim.
I’ve been working today and have had to deal with a load of mad stuff: a gas leak, found because I have a very finely honed sense of smell, and no electricity at the worst end of things but there were also some good experiences too. Generally I think the job is going well even though I say that with my fingers crossed behind my back and hoping I don’t fall flat on my face next weekend and hence live to regret being so confident today.
I’ve been so busy while I’ve been working that for the second week in a row, I’ve not even given my Spurs a second thought while they’ve been playing. They’ve managed some sort of triumph while playing Chelsea in the league, with a well-deserved win by all accounts (even the Chelsea management conceded that they were “sloppy”). I reckon I’m going to fix myself up to work and wait to get home to hear the results in future. No lucky pants, no Spurs shirt and no endless cups of tea in Spurs mugs any more. Just go away and forget all about it until I can watch the game on the telly in the full light of the glory of winning. A little island of joy in the sea of life.
Somehow I can’t see that working for me if I’m not being paid to stay away from the telly and radio. I suspect that on any normal day when we’re playing I’ll still be glued to the telly while the game is on, wearing my Spurs gear and biting my fingernails until the final whistle blows.
This shot was taken after work last Sunday, not today, it’s taken about five minutes walk from the place where I’m working and the weather was almost exactly the same today as then so I’m going to allow myself to “get away with it”.
