Volcanic Cavern

Jameos del Agua is located on the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.
The cave was created by the flow of lava approximately 3,000 years ago.
It is part of the Cueva de los Verdes cave-system which are about a mile away.
Jameos del Agua is home to a special species of white crab (Munidopsis polymorphs).
Apart from Jameos del Agua this crab is only found in the ocean at depths of about 2000 m.
