There was Josh (Star), Lei (Breeze), Pickle (Magellan), Ashley (Comotost), Hanna, and Drew (Caleb).

17 1/2 couple hounds

GPS readings 5.95 miles – 1 hrs 26 minutes moving, 1 hour 23 minutes stopped. Moving average 4.1 mph. Max speed 10.1 mph. Total time 2 hrs 49 minutes. This included portions of a short trail ride going in led by Lei Ruckle.

Lunch/Brunch – Eggs Benedict, salad, chicken Tanzania (a chicken pasta salad sort of dish), and other items prepared by the Amelong family (John Amelong did much of the work).

It was a chilly morning and was still only 22 deg. when I arrived at the hunt club grounds. Proper attire was waived in favor of more warm and comfortable items. The ground was frozen and hard. The temperature went from 24 degrees when we started up to 33 degrees. The wind was cold and pretty steady from the west at about 10 mph. The barometric pressure was falling.

We headed up the driveway to the West, then headed south into the woods looking for a fox that Betsy had seen tracks of a few days earlier when riding in the woods. Almost as soon as the hounds went into the covert they started speaking. They headed to the east and then turned and headed west. They crossed the road (HH) at a place where there is no access for riders. Although the whips tried to stop them they continued westward. We waited at the corner of Z and HH for a while and then moved to the North end of the property at HH. Staff had gone pretty far west looking for hounds. It was finally decided to head in. Lei took the pony clubbers and the junior field for a nice long trail ride which I followed along with for a while before heading in.
