Seven main islands form the volcaniv archipelago of Aeolian Islands in the Tyrrenian Sea. Vulcano is the southern and the closest to Sicily. Alicudi, in the west, and Stromboli, in the est, are the further. The Greeks belived that the God of wind Aeolus resided on Vulcano and over time the entire Archipelago was known as Aeolian.
