I believe this snake might be a Smooth Earth Snake. Young Storeria are supposed to have a conspicuous light collar on the neck. Also, the scales are much smoother than I have seen on a Brown Snake. That said, it's a great photo of an uncommon snake that hardly anyone ever gets to see.
