Imperial Moth Life Stage VIDEO

Copyright © Lewis Scharpf

This video was taken of various stages of the life cycle of Imperial Moths during August, 2017 in Auburn, Alabama.
Little information is available on the conservation status of this species.
However, threats to this species include or may include lack of scientific knowledge, forestry practices, and use of pesticides and herbicides.
The Imperial Moth is one of our most beautiful moths.
Let's do all we can to protect this moth including providing adequate supply of the species' host plants
which include Bald Cypress, basswood, birch, cedar, elm, hickory, Honeylocust, maple, oak,
pine, Sassafras, Sweetgum, sycamore, walnut, and perhaps others.
