Across the Years 48-hour Run - 12.30.2007 - 1.01.2008

Across the Years is a timed ultramarathon. There are three timed races - a 24-hour, a 48-hour, and a 72-hour run. It is in Pheonix, AZ and starts a few days before the New Year. The course is a 500 meter loop around the beautiful Nardini Manor, owned by Rodger Wrublik. The goal is to run as many miles as you can in the amount of time alloted, either 1, 2, or 3 days. Yes, runners run through the night, and yes, runners can take breaks....but the clock keeps ticking!

This was my first 48-hour race. I hit my goal of 150 miles, good enough for second place female and fifth overall. It was a fairly good race for me but I learned a lot and will do things a bit differently next time. ... Yep! There WILL be a next time!

Go to www.acrosstheyears.com for results, pictures, and video of the race.
