This weekend -- memorial day -- the water is 52 degrees; in August it will rise a whole 10 degrees to 62, if we are lucky!

Not EVEN in the heat and peak of summer! Maine does not get the gulf stream effect of the rest of New England -- our water is beyond frigid! good for sailing though, and kayaking -- as long as you are prepared for a possible spill!
