AFRICAN BEARDED BARBET (Lybius dubius)

This central and west African bird is a member of the woodpecker family. It uses its sharp beak to feed on insects and fruit, and to pound holes on trees or stumps for its nest. Barbets are social birds that live in groups of four to five individuals.
