MAGNIFICENT FRIGATEBIRD (Fregata magnificens)

Galapagos Islands - Ecuador

Males have a scarlet throat pouch (seen here) which is inflated like a balloon in the breeding season. Magnificent Frigatebirds have been observed flying as high as 7500 feet, and have a wingspan of over seven feet.
