Foliose Lichen (Xanthoria parietina)

Beechwood Cemetery

The golden colour of this beautiful lichen certainly makes me happy when I see it. Nature has so much beauty if we only stop to look at even the smallest of things. This foliose lichen grows on rocks and was found on a very old gravestone. Victor Swan https://pbase.com/victorswan) has identified it as quite likely Xanthoria parietina.
