Polyphemus moth (Antheraea polyphemus), #7757

Larose Forest

I was hoping to see some giant silk moths in Larose Forest and eventually one Polymphemus moth turned up. Awhile later a second one appeared. These giant moths are up to 150mm in size. This one was posing on Stephen's hand before he moved it to a nearby tree. The adults of this species do not feed.
