Red admiral butterfly (Vanessa atalanta)

Reveler Conservation Area

We saw 6 red admiral butterflies, all close together. I've heard that this year could be a very good one for the species, similar to 2010 when large numbers poured through and into our region and all along the eastern part of NA.

Pretty..we get these in the SF Bay Area. I use to see them a lot more a few years ago. Seeing quite a few swallowtails this year.
