Butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa)

Fletcher Wildlife Garden

Not native to the Ottawa region, but it grows well in gardens here. Like other milkweeds, it attracts Monarch Butterflies and other insects to its flowers. It is native to areas on Ontario south of here.
