Last autumn I had three swallowtail larvae which pupated and spent the winter in my garden shed, where it was cold enough that they wouldn't emerge until spring. A week or so ago I began putting them outside in their rearing cage, bringing them in at night, and a few days ago one emerged, then the second, and there is one more to go.
