Inspiration: Winter colour

Burnt Lands Provincial Park

It is always a pleasure to find any hint of colour in what is largely a monochromatic landscape in winter, unless you are walking through a coniferous forest where there is much green against the snow. Here, some British Soldier lichens (Cladonia cristatells) liven things up!

There used to be a man in New England, Arthur Eames Allgrove, who sold terrarium plants and I bought British soldiers from him. Had to have been at least 40 years ago. Just found this on the web: https://www.houzz.com/discussions/2161709/arthur-eames-allgrove
