Lots of flies seem to suffer from this fungus. Flies so infected will climb to the tip of a leaf, or a grass stem, or a flower, and cling there while the fungus begins to take over and kill them. A fly that is completely infected will show the white spores suffusing the body. For other photos of flies fully overtaken by the fungus, please see: http://www.pbase.com/laroseforest/image/119411922 and http://www.pbase.com/laroseforest/image/149410033
