Bur marigold (Bidens cernua)

Reveler Conservation Area

Also known as nodding beggar-ticks. These plants are usually found growing in damp sites. These were fringing the small pond, and contained some of the beautifully coloured Zebra caterpillars which were feeding on them: http://www.pbase.com/laroseforest/image/161203847

Interesting, Christine, to see another species of Bidens. Bidens pilosa grows as a weed in my garden. As it has nasty burrs, and isn't native, I do my best to get rid of it.
