Found on a white oak. According to Wagner's guide to caterpillars, both Acronica increta and A. ovata, like oak tree. He notes that A. increta, the Southern Oak Dagger Moth caterpillar, rests by day underneath a leaf, with its head curved down by the abdomen as here.
