Blister beetle (Tricrania sp.)

This is an early emerging beetle. It is a parasitoid of colonial bees such as the Colletes bee. It was amongst these bees that I found the beetle scuttling along. Colletes and Andrenids are two very early emerging bees, the latter often found on tree sap.
