Deer tick

This is NOT something you want to find on your arm as Stephen did. These particular ticks are carriers of Lyme Disease. However, not all ticks carry the disease, but given how dreadful Lyme can be, it is wise to check oneself when coming home from a walk in areas where ticks thrive.

I probably had 18 or 20 this year. I usually catch them crawling up my legs.

Looks as ugly as a bed bug, which I once found in an expensive hotel in Santorini, Greece. Yikes! Great macro, though. V

nasty yes...excellent shot though..it seems many people diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome actually have Lyme Disease...it is here in BC too..
