Bird's nest fungi

QU Biological Station. Found on a pile of lumber along a trail. I am fascinated by these tiny fungi and have found them in various locations over the years. There are a number of different species, this one may be Crucibulum laeve. When you look into the cups or 'bird nests' you see a clutch of what look like little white eggs!

Or like cups? Fascinating.

They look like little chimneys or something ;-). Great perspective for this fine capture. V.
