These are only a few of the thousands of little European skippers I saw one day recently just after they emerged. Clouds of them flew up as I walked through the fields. A few days later, drenchingly heavy rain had grounded them and many would have died as heavy rain is lethal for small butterflies. This is a non-native species which should be familiar to Europeans.
