Chickadees everywhere

As we began walking down the trail below Dolman Rd., a gang of chickadees attacked! Well, they very politely and oh, so adorably, asked for seeds. About 8 appeared almost immediately and landed on us and near us, hovering in front of us, perching on the wild raspberry shrubs nearby. They have to be one of the most endearing and engaging of all our birds, fearless and quick to learn that in certain areas, people come armed with seeds. It was -18 with the windchill, and the winds were fierce, but the sun was out, and the chickadees were present, so it was a good day.
