Goldenrod leaf beetle (Trirhabda)

Early in summer, the little black larvae of these beetles are found on the goldenrod. By July, the adults are starting to be visible. Many species of insects make use of goldenrods, whether feeding on the stems, the leaves, or nectaring on the flowers.
