I was pleased to see at least four of these in Larose Forest yesterday. These tiny blues, in the Lycaenidae family, look rather sober with their wings closed, but when they open them, there is a flash of brilliant blue! After the overwintering butterflies (mourning cloaks (Camberwell beauty), commas, and tortoiseshells), these are the first to emerge from their chrysalis in spring, in this area.
