Haiku # 11: Dying his body

I was hoping to find one of the Autumn Meadowhawks to illustrate this haiku, and on a sunny day a few days ago, there were about a dozen still flying around. The haiku comes from the book "Haiku. An Anthology of Japanese Poems", by Stephen Addiss and Fumiko and Akira Yamamoto.

Excellent capture of the dragonfly seeking warmth from the reflecting sand. Looks much like our Sympetrum species. V
