Fiery skipper (Hylephila phyleus)

A rare in this region, butterfly. Several of them (some reports say as many as 8) have been hanging out at the Ornamental Gardens on the Central Experimental Farm, for a couple of weeks. This species was first found in the Ottawa area 1998 and, as far as anyone knows, was not seen again until August 2012. In the same location!!

Great close up of this little skipper - they are really cool little "fly flies" - that's what I called butterflies and moths when I was little! V
