Aquatic leaf beetle (Donacia sp.)

These beetles are usually found near water, but this one was in a dry meadow habitat, perched on a milkweed leaf. There are various species and I know little about them, other than that I have found them in a few different colours, usually shades of green. This is the first brown Donacia I have seen.
