Golden tortoise beetle (Charidotella sexpunctata)

I found two of these beetles on my morning glory vine, a preferred food plant for these tiny leaf beetles. They absolutely glow golden when first seen. But, if they feel threatened, they turn from gold to red, and this one is in the process of turning red! Clearly not happy with me taking photos.

Platinum gold beauty with shadings of rose and other iridescent glimmers. So lovely.
