Sharp lobed hepatica (Hepatica acutiloba)

Found in Ferguson Forest, Kemptville. These are one of the earliest spring flowers to bloom, growing in open woodlands before the leaves emerge. One of a group of early blooming woodland flowers known as "spring ephemerals".
