Paper wasp (Polistes fuscatus) on goldenrod

This paper wasp was nectaring on goldenrod, along with a myriad of other insects, in Rockcliffe Park. When I stuck my camera up close it turned around and faced the camera almost as if posing. We were nose to nose for a few seconds!

A bunch of those almost ate up a wooden swing in 3 summers. WE could see the "teeth" marks in the soft wood. Excellent capture. Vµ

I expect I found your latest image by following Graeme 45's advice by putting it as our profile picture. That's thinking Graeme. Wow what a beauty this one is. Glad I didn't miss it. C'mon Pbase. Fix this problem. Wonderful clear image. As if I were standing on the goldenrod too.
