Monarch caterpillar eating milkweed flower bud.

For all the common milkweeds we saw today at the Elbow Lake Nature Conservancy property (appointment only), there was only one Monarch butterfly caterpillar visible. Perhaps there were more. I hope so, as they are not faring well thus far this year, especially up here where few are being seen.
