Wing prints

These wing prints were one of several I found today. I'm not sure who would have made them, but either crow or possibly a sharp-shinned hawk that has been hanging around. They measure 22 inches across (L to R) at the widest part. You can see that the snow has been churned up as if some sort of kerfuffle took place. I am guessing that a vole or mouse may have run across the snow just as whoever made these prints was nearby and pounced.

Beauty that is typical of the animals kingdom, unlike man tracks which are littered with shot casings from their blood thirst. V
