These animals are not at the Quarry Woods, which is well known in Ottawa for a place to see semi-tame deer. I have watched this family since early summer, when the two fawns wore their spotted coats. I see them every so often, perhaps every 3rd or 4th visit to this site, and now I see that one of the fawns is quite a bit larger than the other. Here, they were on their way across an open area, to the woods, but had stopped for one last curious look.
