This beautiful large milk snake was resting under a large rock. Stephen picked him up for a few photos and then let him go. He was beautifully fresh, and had probably just shed his old skin not very long ago.

The shiny scales on his head attest to a recent shed. Our milksnakes (Mexican} have the red, white and black pattern. This one reminds me of a cornsnake. I love how you captured that headon shot with the long tongue. Voted.
