Mosquito (Culicid sp.), very big, very beautiful!

Burnt Lands near Almonte. This is one of the biggest mosquitoes I've seen. There were quite a few of them out in an open area, between woods and a quarry. Back in the interior of the Burnt Lands, the mosquitoes were much smaller.

Good thing she is sticking her proboscis in the fabric and not in your skin. It must be a different species than the usual. Excellent photo.
