Lord Howe Island — widely regarded as the most beautiful island in the Pacific.
It is one of just four island groups to be inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage list for the global significance of its natural beauty and heritage and was ranked first in the list of "The 25 most amazing islands on earth" in "Islands Magazine".
Located about 600kms north east of Sydney, Australia, and only 11kms long and between 0.3km and 2km wide, this jewel of the Pacific is a pristine natural wonderland of beauty and tranquility with many of the plants and animals found nowhere else in the world.
The island was declared a Permanent Park Reserve in 1981, similar to a national park, and with a local population of about 350 and only a maximum of 400 tourists at any one time, along with excellent recycling strategies, helps keep the island in it's pristine condition.
