The buildings in bottom centre of this picture were the original mine
stores and storeman‘s residence. This part of Burra grew as a series of
“suburbs” of the company town, each associated with a different community:
Redruth for the Cornish, Aberdeen for the Scots, Llwchwr for the Welsh.
