The Great Ocean Road & Victoria

The Great Ocean Road is an Australian National Heritage listed 243 kilometres (151 mi) stretch of road along the south-eastern coast of Australia between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Allansford. Built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932 and dedicated to soldiers killed during World War I, the road is the world's largest war memorial. Winding through varying terrain along the coast and providing access to several prominent landmarks, including the Twelve Apostles limestone stack formations, the road is an important tourist attraction in the region.

I'm not sure how you found the road but I found its reputation as "One of Australia's Great Drives" to be vastly overrated. Actually it's probably great as a passenger but as a driver it's curve after curve after curve with the A pillar blocking your vision of the road ahead if you have all round air bags, as most cars do these days. It's a drive I have no wish to do again but am happy to let someone else do. Or just fly from place to place in a Huey...

I love these. I need to get back there. Did the Great Ocean Road in 2009 and it was wonderful. I would have like to have spent more time for sure. Beautiful work here. ~BV~
