Navara Fire

My husband didn't make it to golf this morning...within minutes of smelling smoke and using the handbrake to stop as he discovered he had no brakes it was reduced to this.
Two guys passing stopped and called the fire brigade and directed traffic around the car....thanks to whoever they are :)

My god Laine! He was a lucky chap to get clear of the car, all sorts of things could of happened. You just never know what is round the corner!!

Wow, what a very scary thing to happen. Thank goodness your husband was not hurt, but I guess the car is a write-off.

Smart fellow that husband of yours. It is not what you want to deal with on a golf day.

Glad he was ok. Good thinking to use the handbrake.

Oh my goodness, I'm glad that your husband was able to stop the car and get out.
This is very frightening!

Crikey - that must be a scary thing to happen. Good thing that all that was burned was 'stuff'

not a good start to the year, could of been worse though!

So happy to hear Ian is OK, material stuff can be replaced.
Any idea of the cause, presumably an electrical fault?

So sorry to see the car ruined but glad he wasn't hurt or any innocent bystanders either. This accident could have been a lot worse if it happened at higher speeds especially with no brakes. I wonder how many drivers don't realise the handbrake should be called the emergency brake just for these rare events.

now THAT's dramatic

I am so happy that he is safe. Bet he loved that car, too.

I'm glad your husband is safe, and I'm sorry about the truck. Hopefully insured. I'm also glad it didn't start a brush fire!
There are a lot of car fires in our hot summers here, we call that a CAR-B-QUE

Sheesh!
Not a good end, save to say everybody was safe.
And those golf clubs!
