On February 8 doctors said the magic words " Emily is in remission " No cancer cells evident in her body. I'm sure I don't have to say how good it was to hear those words six weeks after diagnosis. Treatment will of course continue for the full 2 year period & remission will need to remain for 5 years before a declaration of cure can be made.
She remains in hospital, though she came close to be coming home twice. Low Neutrophils this morning. Last week it was an elevated temperature. Hospital treatment both as an in & outpatient will be daily for 2 years to come.
Her body has gone through some changes as is evident in this image taken yesterday. She has made her medicos very happy with her lack of expected adverse reactions, ie: sickness & mouth ulcers etc: Her appitite has all but disappeared...icecream & sultanas are her only & favourite food....still breastfed she is receiving the nutrients needed & nutritionists are closely monitoring her.
Thank you for the messages and support I am continually receiving from wonderful pbasers.
My life is still divided into many parts with small amount of time to spare for each.
Small steps, huge results....
