Mobile Transportation

More & more Babyboomers ( born post WW11 )are opting to S.K.I ( Spend the Kid's Inheritance ) & see Australia in retirement, either toting a caravan behind a 4x4 or with a mobile home. Known as Grey Nomads, these Aussies who worked hard for 40 plus years are using their Superannuation Retirement Funds to support them as they follow the sun :>)

nice looking rig.. my kids are lucky, they have no hopes of inheriting anything anyway, but then I don't get to spend what I don't have.. I'd like to be one of these greys :)

We have lots of snowbirds come to our town in the winter in Motor homes.

I can't say I blame them and would be nice way to see the country and enjoy their golden years instead of cooped up not doing anything. The kids gotta be able to pay their own way these days anyway. In fact, I doubt any of our savings will go far with the rate of inflation these days.

High gas/petrol prices have cut down on the number of these on the roads, but they are still very popular with the retirees. Nice shot, Laine!

Retirees with camper vans known in Canada as 'Snowbirds' - it's still not my idea of a holiday but this one is a beauty. Chris
