More December Snow

I don't mind a joke but this is ridiculous. From my window this morning, there is a road out there somewhere. We had 18 inches of snow last-night on top of the two feet we had the day before. For the first time I can remember the main Island Highway was closed because of whiteout conditions. Might be hamburgers for Christmas dinner.....once again digging out...
Jess.

Jess, what a beautifull winter picture. You got quite some snow there. Is that amount of snow unusual for Vancouver Island ? The colors are amazing. Very well done. Hope you don't mind the hamburgers :-) V

As frustrating as it must be to be home bound, this really is quite lovely. Time for a fire, hot cocoa and a good book.

Global Warming???? I think not! Beautiful scenery but as long as you have something to eat and can stay warm, just enjoy the scene! This is so beautiful!

Oh, it's so nice to see snow when it isn't in my front yard. :)

That's a beautiful scene, well worth burgers for Christmas, no? Snuggle up by the fire and do out till Spring thaw.

This is an amazing image!
Sonny18-Dec-2008 21:15
Beautiful image! Love the blue, blue sky contrasting with the white snow. Here in SC, all we have is rain. I miss the snow. *sigh*
Hank Vander Velde18-Dec-2008 21:05
What a perfect and serene image Jess. If only we wouldn't have to shovel it. We are supposed to be getting about 16 inches too this weekend on top of what we already have. Just keep looking out the window.
Guest 18-Dec-2008 20:59
I've looked hard but can't spot the reindeer or the sleigh...wonderful to look at and photograph but travelling conditions must be a nightmare....
Tom Munson18-Dec-2008 20:56
What a gorgeous image, Jess. Great shot. We are also getting hammered. We have had 20 inches in the last 24 hours and it's still snowing. All I've done is shovel.

Hi Jess, send some of that snow down to NM.... Our ski slopes are desperate for more. I can see that you have more than enough. VVN image -- seems HDR like in the gorgeous color and tonal range.

Awesome, really breathtaking image, Jess. I love the quality of the light. It does seem like rather deep snow for your area.
