The Perkeo II is a medium format folding camera made by Voiglander between 1952-1955. Perkeo means pigmy. The Perkeo is the smallest folding camera. It easily fits into a pocket.
To use it you push a button and the front opens and the lens comes out. The Perkeo is a range finder but does not have a coupled range finder meaning focus must be made by setting distance on the lens. The viewfinder is used for framing photos.
The Perko has two snapshot settings. one is for near focus or 8'-16' and far focus which is 20' - inf. At f8 and higher, these are remarkably accurate. In addition, the distance scale is marked in meters. The closet focus is 1 meter.
The Color Skopar lens is a Tessar type coated lens featuring four elements in three groups. It is a remarkable lens with excellent contrast and combining both softness and sharpness at the same time.
The Synchro-Compur shutter is on the lens and has apertures of f3.5-f16. Shutter speeds are B & T to 1/500. The shutter is set by cocking a lever on the lens.
The camera features a double exposure lock which prevents the photographer from shooting the same frame twice. The shutter button will not depress until the film is advanced to the next frame.
