Quite an evocative image. Makes me wonder what the person who lived in this room felt when looking out to the sunshine from the darkened room. V

A superb document of the scene and this image invites interpretation on many levels. The closed doors of the clothes cupboard and the open window filled with light are evocative contrasts. V+

After commenting earlier, I kept thinking about your shot here. It reminds me very much of a painting called Dust Motes Dancing in the Sunshine by Vilhelm Hammershoi. He is one of my favorite artists. Here are some of his works including Dust Motes ~http://pinterest.com/mahya/vilhelm-hammershi/

The title and image combine to suggest someone has dearly departed. Sad mood but brilliant photography.
Best to you,

Karen, what, if any, emotion did you feel as you stood there with your camera ready to take this shot? Looking at it now, I feel sadness and isolation, but that's OK ..... because it is what it is and life can sometimes be very sad. Beautifully composed .... I'm not sad right now, but I've been there before and I really do love this image! ~V~

First of all, I love the bright light streaming through the window! The feeling of emptiness (despite the furnishings) is quite strong too. Very, very nice work, Karen. V
